At 8:00 a.m. on November 30, 2021, the CDQ unit of the No. 2 CDQ Overhaul and Upgrade Project for the Angang Steel Co., Ltd. Bayuquan Iron and Steel Branch, for which Huatai served as the EPC contractor, was successfully commissioned!

This project marks our company’s first instance of optimizing the existing design of the CDQ including increasing the cooling chamber volume, reducing resistance in the chute section, and enhancing the dry quencher’s processing capacity, while reutilizing the original CDQ shell. To meet the contract’s 70-day construction schedule, we overcame various challenges posed by winter construction and tight schedule by implementing a 24-hour, two-shift operation, and ensured the project was fully completed within the scheduled timeframe with high standard and high quality.

This project marks our first collaboration with Ansteel Group and serves as our company’s inaugural retrofit project involving the design optimization of an existing dry quencher. The successful commissioning of this project fully demonstrates Huatai’s technical capabilities.
